Bass Fishing

The streams of the Elk River basin offer a variety of game fish from several varieties each of Bass, Catfish and Crappie.

Big Sugar Creek and Indian Creek are both known locally for excellent bass fishing.

While there are some wading opportunities, many fisherman choose to take short trips of 3 or 4 miles via canoe, kayak or float tube/belly boat to access the best spots.

Fishermen of the lowest portions of Elk River should be aware of the Oklahoma state line. Take care not to cross it lest you have the appropriate licensing documents.
